Neolithic Diet

Having pottery allowed farmers to cook foods in stews.

New cereal grains like barley could be added to make the stew more filling and the meat and barley could be cooked for a longer time to make them easier to eat and digest.

Pots were also useful for making cheese and may have been used to melt animal fat to make simple oil for lamps or to make soaps or ointments.
